Modem disconnects all the time

i got a standard 56k modem, and its started to disconnect first after half an hour then after 10 minutes. then i have to restart the computer for it to stay conected for another 30 minutes.
does anyone knw how i can make it stay connected for longer?

What is your operating system?
Who is your ISP?

windows 95
ISP is Telewest, its a british based company

Try a newer driver for the modem, all LT Win's can use the generic driver.

Get the DUN upgrade for Win95 from microsoft, and install it.
