IE uninstall

OK,now I have had it..Please help me here...

I have been having nothing but problems lately with my internet access...I have ADSL but am constantly receiving timeout errors when I attempt to surf somewhere(mostly anywhere)...usually as soon as I hit the refresh button the site I am seeking pops up...I do not believe it to be a modem problem...my network settings are correct(as per Telus support staff)...so, I want to uninstall IE6.0 and maybe start again by reloading 5.5...I have Netscape 6.2 as well as Mozilla, and they run fairly well most of the time...
is it possible to uninstall IE?
I attempted to do it from the control panel but the only options I seem to get is to 1)repair IE, or 2)add a component...???

thanks in advance

If you want to remove IE completely. Use 98lite

http://www.litepc.com

This site has a program that will remove it. No program for win2000 or xp yet.

No idea why your control panel doesn't give you the option to roll back to IE 5.5

Yes, you can uninstall IE 6

Go to Windows Update
Click on 'Product Updates'
Next Click on 'Show Installed Updates'
Now scroll down to Internet Explorer 6 and click on 'Uninstall'

aha!!!

Well, thank you all for your quick responses...

Rick, I attempted your suggestion but was unsuccessful...

Jon, the 98lite worked for me nicely...it took a little bit on my part to get it to work correctly but not too much...uninstall went fairly smoothly and the 5.5 re-install also went well...I am now "time out" error free...at least so far...and my whole surfing experience
is much better...faster and smoother...
thanks again to all that responded
