IP address on cable

When I had a cable modem my IP address stayed the same. At least I thought it did.
Now someone told me that on the new comcast system their IP address changes--"revolving".
could anyone explain this to me or give a web address that has the info?

The IP address is fixed so long as the connection is active. If your cable went out for a few hours, you could likely have a different IP address. You might try Cablemodeminfo.com for more info.

Hi Briab Guy,

There's should be something about it here. Check the news and the Comcast forums for any info.

http://www.dslreports.com/

The address is DSL reports, but it has DSL/cable info.
