HELLO:
I'm using winxp home with the ie6 that came with it. After the wife was on this morning I went back down and the font size is bigger now. Not outrageous, but just a little too big for my liking. Scanned for virus and checked settings, but don't see anything unusual. From what I can tell you would have to start checking the options under general tab accessibility to actually change the font size, but none are checked. I tried advanced, set defaults, no change. It doesn't seem to be all text on web-pages, because some things still look normal sized as they were, but mostly in the main body of pages the letters have gotten too large for my liking. I know she did not knowingly change anything!

You may have checked this, but with IE open go to veiw and then to text size and set it for a smaller font size.
