web design
I am trying to get into learning about how to build websites. I wanted to know what is a good place to start. I know very little about the subject so I want something that starts from scratch. Any ideas?

Hi eracheff,
Before getting into the design aspect, I would recommend that you learn HTML. You don't have to know every detail, but at least know the basics so that you could write your own page from scratch without needing a WYSIWYG editor. One of the best HTML sites is HTML Goodies. http://www.htmlgoodies.com/ Hope that helps. |

DrZaius is right, get a grasp on html first.
Then start looking into other languages, look at some sites and see what sort you want to design, weither it be php..flash..asp.. etc... Then do some reading on what your intrested in What might help you to decide - what are you going to be doing it for, is it for fun or for a possible job? As if its in mind of job prospects then you may want to look into certain languages more so than others, asp is seeming to become quite popular requests Regards, James |
