Problem with MSN & WINXP
Here goes the problem, just finished getting my first build up and running great after some hardware issues as noted in last post.
Now my problem is with msn explorer software, which is loaded with XP. After I set up my kids internet connection with msn I was able to browse the internet for about 5 hours then suddenly after I disconnected and tried to log on later I got a message that their is no msn dial credential on my system. I tried to uninstall and reinstall msn through add remove windows componets with no luck. I called their tech support and we installed and uninstalled again and cleaned out the registry with no luck either, they had me get online through a manual connection they set up then downloaded msn explorer 7 again, and after that was all done we still ran into the same problem. While trying to do it myself I kept on getting a runtime error and asked if I wanted to debug I said no and could not continue, before all this started I disabled a bunch of stuff in services that I got from the tweak xp site with a link to blackviper.com site. I did this on my dell which I'm using and have no problems because I have dsl and msn dial up also because the wife likes it. Msn told me to do a clean install of XP without 98 under it,but my only concern is because I used a older motherboard and processor Shuttle AI61 slot A and 700mhz athlon processor, I might run into a problem installing the motherboard drivers. We connect no problem with the manual connection put my kids can't log on seperate like they use to. any suggestions. Thanks.
