Where'd it go?
I am just wondering I did a reformat a few weeks ago and when I re-marked PC Mech in my browser, IE 5.5, I didn't get back the "cute" PC Mech icon in front of the bookmark. Where'd it go?

Have you gone back in IE 5.5 to make sure cookies are on?... If they weren't, you may have to save the PCMech homepage in your favorites list again to have the icon stick... but the icon will disappear if you clear all cookies once in a while... Unless someone knows an easy trick to keep 'em there?...

The link that TheOldMan gave pretty much sums it up. With mine, all I do is this. If they have a ready-made icon it is usually somewhere in the root directory of their site and named "favicon.ico". For instance, with ESPN you type in www.espn.com normally to go to their site, but if you type in www.espn.com/favicon.ico it brings up the little red letter "E" that is their logo. Right click on it and save it to a directory on your HD. Then in your favorites menu go to the link and instead of left clicking to go to the site, right click and go Properties. In there somewhere you should be able to find a button that says "Change Icon". Hit this and either type in where the icon is at, including the .ico name, or just browse for it and click it when you find it. Hit apply and OK, and it should be set for good in your faves list. HTH
