I have several .avi clips that I captured from home video. On my local machine, Windows Media Player plays them with no problem. But I've tried several times to upload them to my wife's website on tripo.lycos and they won't play from there. I get a successful upload message, but when I click the link, Media Player opens and says "Invalid file format".
Example: http://ritaren.tripod.com/sgsteve/solo_pass.avi Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve |

Try right clicking the link and choosing Save Target As.. Then save the file on your hard drive. See if it plays from there. If it doesn't then the file isn't being completely uploaded or is possibly being corrupted on tripod.

Thanks for the reply Cowboy. I got it worked out. I had to convert the file to a streaming format (.wmv).
Now the problem is that when folks watch the videos they eat up my daily bandwidth allotment on the website in a heartbeat and the want a small fortune for additional bandwidth. |
