File Sharing Web sights: Any way to keep out Spyware??

As far as I know Win MX is about the only File Sharing sight that doesn't install Spyware on your hard drive when you install the program.
My questions are: Does anyone know of any other file sharing sights that don't install Spyware?
If I decided to install one of the File Sharing programs that do install Spyware (Kazaa, Morpheus,Bearshare etc.) would I be able to simply use Ad Aware to get rid it permanently??
I'm afraid to even attempt installing one of these other programs. All I can remeber is when I had those Spyware filled programs installed on my other pc, I was getting junk mail up the wazoo!

Thanks in advance

Normally we do not answer questions on this forum that have anything to do with a legally questionable activity or out right illeagal one. However since I absoulutly hate Spyware I will deal with that an that alone.
Shareware software writers and some Freeware people make money by bundling spyware inside their programs. Since most people do not pay for the programs they have pretty much resorted to this practice across the board. As an example you are downloading copyrighted material without paying for it on a program that you are not paying for so this is the way the P2P developer gets paid.
If you do not want spyware on your machine it is simple, do not use these programs.

Thanks for the reply. It wasn't my intent to promote the use of these File Sharing sights but the fact is that they do exist and just about every MP3 afficionado uses them.
I'm sorry for bringing it up and it won't happen again.

I say just stick with WinMX, it's the best filesharing app I've tried, and I've tried pretty much all of them.

I agree with DrZaius, I've tried many of them and found WinMX to be the best.

The safest way is to install a second Operating System on your harddrive. And only install questionable software there. That way if something is messed up, you don't have to worry cause it's a second OS, and you can always reinstall it on that harddrive/partition.
