Hi,
Does anyone knows why do i have a additional pop up windows which says Cannot Find Server in the HeadBox and 'The Page Cannot Be Displayed' message heading. At the same time this happens i'm still online and the page that i intended to go to does come out fine. It's just annoying to have this additional page to come out too !!

Hi bunnybuilder,
Could be a pop-up ad page that isn't loading. When you go to a certain webpage, your system may have an old cookie from that site and it's "calling" a server that isn't there anymore. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools> Options> in the Temporary Internet Files box, click on the Delete button. Then click on the Settings button and change the size of the "Amount of disk space to use" to 25MB. Do a full virus scan with updated definitions. Do a scan for spyware with Ad-Aware. Do a scan for trojans with The Cleaner. Cricket

it's java script that opens pop-up's, not cookies. The popup is looking for a server that either doesnt exist, or is down. If you dont want any popups ever again, then disable javascript in your internet options, but this will effect java embedded websites also, or run a program such as pop-up stopper which will take care of most of them. As for this window, just clost it as the server is probably down.

I love it when they don't load, because this is the pop-up that usually will load all the others as you try and close them or worse, can hijack your home page.

Hi,
So, basically it's all with the probs of the JAvaScripting, Right ? But is there a way to solve this problem without compromising of the lost of not having JavaScript enabled ? I do have Nortons internet Security which does has Ad blocking features Enabled. Thanks |

It's not probably not the settings on your computer, but rather there is errors in the pop-up window's script

There are a number of spyware apps that collect information about your activities and upload them to servers or open other windows based on what you are doing. Here is some general information about them
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.htm Look for applications you may have installed and see if there are similar symptoms. Good luck. The Old Man |
