Nice lil ADSL error

This is the second time my computer has hung, and i believe it to be becasue of my (usb) adsl connection/modem

Im running win2000, and have got this nice blue screen (twice now) saying;

*** STOP: 0x000000D1 (0xXFEC0D000, Ox00000002, 0x00000000, 0xEB5453C9)

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

*** Address EB5453C9 bass at EB540000, Datastamp 3abb6497 - alcan5wn.sys

Arrgggg.... does anyone know what this is, the reason why im guessing its to do with my usb adsl modem is because (i think) the alcan5wn.sys is the driver for the modem,

Would really like to know whats going on, and if it can be fixed,

Thanks all,
James

Hi Battery Powered,

Have you checked for a newer driver for that modem?

http://translate.google.com/translat...8%26oe%3Dutf-8

The translation from French is unreal, but you may get some ideas out of this - if you understand French you might want to load the original page - just Google search on DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and it's on the first page of hits.

Thnkas loads for the link, i installed the latest driver last night and its been pretty good since,

I think what it might of been was when i was runninf a hotline server, as the 2 times i have run it i got the crash msg, now i've left it off its been ok,

I'll set it going in a sec and see if it is the hotline server doing it,

Thanks again for the link
James
