Unhappy ADSL Help please...no activity for 6 hrs = disconnect? (How do I stop it)

help pelase someone,

I finnaly got adsl at home (whooopeee)...i was wondering if someone can help me here, with my service provider if there is no data transfer for more than 6 hrs then i get disconnected, even if im downloading of MIRC, anyway to make the pc to go onto websites automatically every half an hour so it shows data being transfered, so i dont get my MIRC download to stop half way due to disconnection from server due to no activity.

Cheers

Send a message via AIM to Xayd
Have your mail program check for email every couple of hours, that should do the trick.

Either that or keep a webpage loaded that refreshes itself periodically - like one of the sports score sites.

Send a message via ICQ to HackinCowboy
Yea it will still work. Your e-mail program will still log into the server and check to see if there are any new messages. So there still will be activity.
