I recently hooked up a new computer with a Smartlink 56K v.92 modem. My old computer had a Conexant 56k v.90 modem. I was getting internet connection speeds of 49333 kbps almost everytime on my old modem. Now on my new modem I am getting speeds from 37.2 kbps to 40.0 kbps. I haven't gotten faster than 40 kbps. I don't know what the problem is. I have tried changing the maximum port speed and everything. Can someone please help me? The new computer is hooked up to the same phone line and the same wall jack. I am open to new ideas. Please help me.
