Yes, you do need to install the drivers for each NIC. Do not install any software for the ISP (dial-up type software). You enter the IP settings by connecting to the router from any of the systems, just open a web browser and go to http://192.168.0.1 (or similar, check the manual).

Like I mentioned above, I wouldn't install any router software, all the configuration should be done through the web interface.

You need to uninstall the SBC connection software and just enter the PPPoE information into the router so that it connects for all of the systems, not just one. Check the users manual for how to enter the needed settings. And the maximum Cat5 cable length is 100 meters.

You need to connect to the router's web interface at http://192.168.0.1 and enter the Setup area where you can type in the login info.

I just checked and some D-Link routers come with a web interface and some come with software. If yours dosn't have the web interface (check the manual) then you will need to install the router software that came on the CD and enter your ISP info in the Management tab.

ok i think my main problem now is that when i am conected in the router i can see i have a local area conection active but when i go to open the explorer it ask me to conect (window with username and password) if i close window and tipe the http//192.xxxx it does not go anywhere (because i am not conected) if i try to conect it will not do it because i am set to conect straight to the modem
how do i make i.e. to go to http//192.xxxxx thanks |
