Question Proxy servers

I would like to know if anyone has any helpful hints when using proxies. And what is the big difference between transparent,anonymous...etc... and even while using a firewall a port scan probe finds open ports ? I assume they are the servers ports when using a proxy ? And not mine ?

Thanks Don

When you operate the portscan you may find that you are scanning inside of the firewall,
when you scan loacally the packets dont go out of the firewall then come back - meaning the firewall has no effect

You may want to consider getting a friend to portscan you or visit a site that offers a remote portscan facility

What exactly are you sepcifying when you portscan, address wise, (lile are you saying to scan localhost / 127.0.0.1)?
