Downloading
I have a dial up connection and I use a download manager(download wonder). Which lets me resume downloading if my connection is broken. That is fine, and about 90% of the time when i click a link to download somthing DW will download it with no problems.
But about 10% of the time i do not get that option Windows takes over and downloads the file and there is no option to resume if the link is broken. If it is a small file there is no problem but i do not want to start a 2 hour download and then find i have lost the connection after about 1 hour and there is no way to resume the download. 1 why does windows take over some of the downloads? 2 Is there any way to get Download Wonderor or another DM take over the downloading of a large file if only the windows option is available. Thanks Last edited by Zardock; 07-23-2002 at 04:43 PM. |

I'm not sure about your program Zardock but I use Download Accelerator. It's never given me a problem except on some http downloads where I'll revert back to windows momentarily. You should have a setting with DW to keep windows from taking offer so you can always default to DW.

It sometimes happens to me too. Some sites doesn't support DMs. The M$ site for example, it even asks you to disable your DM in order to correctly download the data.

And not all servers support resuming.
