I have a HP Digital camera that I use to take all my pictures. I want to put them on my web site; however all of the images are approximately 1MB in size. I have tried to convert the images to smaller type format e.g. bitmap and gif, but they are still over 500k. My camera automatically downloads the pictures as jpeg’s.
The only way I can convert the pictures to a manageable size is to make them very small. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks |

Get a program like Paintsop pro or something like it. Open the picture you downloaded from the camera and then use save as to rename it and save it. Don't ask me how it works or why, but I have seen this drop the size ten fold. Then open the new ly save picture and resize it to something practical for a website.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I noticed my default image size for the pictures I am downloading from my camera were 1800x1200. This was causing my picture’s file size to be so large. Once I resized my images to say 180x120 the file size was reduced from 1.5MB to 15kb.
Thanks for the help. 10010101 |
