Spam Sites Keep Windows Locked On Screen

There are some spam-like Web sites that purposely remove the web address box and make the close window not functional so that the Web page is basically stuck on your screen. Even after I disconnect, the Web sites are still stuck on my screen. Rather then restart my computer and waste time, I usually continuing my browsing with other Web sites that I have minimized. Would anyone know how to close the window of such a Web site. I've tried to close it by right clicking on the icon from the task bar but it just won't function.

Send a message via MSN to doctorgonzo
CTRL-ALT-DEL and shut down Internet Explorer (iexplore.exe) will get rid of that stuff.

Just had to say that's great one arm... I mean about the backward and forward of windows. Who woulda thunk it? Got my chuckle for the day.

And thanks for the ctrl w tip mairving, have only had a few I couldn't close but they are the most irritating thing on the net.

why not use a program like pop up killer??? destroys most pop ups automatically and the rest you can close with the program and they will not bother you again when you visit the site again..

I have tried a couple of different popup stoppers and they have interfered with some other things I do and use on the net. I haven't found one that I really like.

Which ones have you tried?
