Just how much of the AOL files do you need to keep
Gotta client who is now on AOL 7.0, started with way earlier version like 3 or something. She's got these huge AOL files on her drive.
Can any of these be tossed? TIA Last edited by TimPoet; 08-02-2002 at 11:57 PM. |

My personal opinion is that ALL of them can and Should be tossed, but if they want to keep on using aol you would be playing with fire. tried to uninstall aol from a computer one time (version 5 or 6 I think) and only way to do it was to let aol connect online (yet again) to do what I have no idea. If you can get everything that's aol uninstalled & deleted you could then just use one of the millions of newer aol CD's that are out there and install only the latest version of aol junk, or you can try uninstalling then deleting only the versions that are not wanted. If I remember right, you should still be able to see all the previous versions of aol, each with there own folder, exe file and so forth. Any system that has aol on it (especially if it's been on there a while & used alot) is very unpredictable.

Look through the download folders in each version for files they need to keep, move them, then you can just delete the old AOL folders, shortcuts, etc.
