IE printing cutting of right side of page

Hi All,

My good neighbor, and a different good friend, and myself all have the same problem: most things printed with IE (6 & 5.x) chop off the right side of the page !?!? (I never had this problem when using Netscape 4.x or earlier.)

I've searched the Web but didn't find anything that works; can anybody help us?? Please!

Thanks!!!

Hi K A Hall,

Ya, and the only one I found that seemed related was to increase the left/right margins, which didn't seem to help much. My printer, like most, won't print edge to edge so I have them set at 1/2 inch.

I've done the "font" thing and played with the size of the on-screen display. I've even switched to a lower screen res, like 800x600 and stil have the same results: the right side is cut off.

I even tried this screen, and the tabs at top (Home, Channels, etc) go to the right about 2/3 of the way accross the top. The print stops right at the "P' in Products.

Any other ideas??

Thanks

hi two rails
the only way i get around that if the site has there own print button on the page. i have that problem too. or if i really want it i copy it all and paste it to my notepad. and then copy it. a hassle sometimes.

Printing is really quite weird in IE 6. I have noticed pages cutting off usually when printing from a site that uses frames. Funny thing is that the MS support site is a big offender. Another weird thing is that whenever I have ordered from NewEgg, I will print the invoice. Every time it locks the printer up.

You might search through this and see if one of those fixes helps.

I'll have to give that cut-n-paste trick a try!

Hi wolfie,

Now your a member of the 700 club?! LOL

No, haven't tried that one, and for $40, I probably won't.... But, you did remind me of a free program I did have, and that was HP's WebPrint (or something like that). It would change size, font, basic colors, print pages on the links if desired, etc. But HP pulled it of their site and don't offer it anymore....

I have the same problem, and normally just print in landscape if I really want whatever is over on the RHS.

A lot of websites seem to restrict the text / information within a page so that it prints in portrait okay, albeit with the logo etc cut off.

Of course, printing in landscape means more pages...

Hope that helps,

David.

they leave there add at the bottom. but whats nice you can print 2-4-8 pages onto one page and save paper. if you can read that small.

For most of the printing I do off the internet I just highlight the portion of the page that I need and click:

file> print> selection (under "print range")

For pages with frames you can also use the "print frames" option, but frames are becoming less and less common.

Hi wolfie,

my printer can already do that, print multi pages on one sheet. But, like you mention, I have to get out the magnifying glass out!

Hi Shikwa,

I do that at times, but there're time when we want the whole page, plus we would just like the ease and convienence of just hitting the print button and it's done...

Hi TwoRails,

Try this...go to File> Page Setup (or Print Setup) and increase the side margins a bit. Your printer may be able to handle more than what the default margins are set to.

Hi Cricket,

Was that you I saw riding that dragon Friday nite??

I set my margins to 1/2 inch, and still no luck, didn't even looked like I gained that inch!?

I don't mind the cut-n-paste thing, but I'm normally in a rush and reformating things so they look OK is a bit much at times.
