Your ISP should provide you with newsgroup access. You'll have to contact them for the specifics.

You can also do a search on Google or Altavista for subscription based providers.

Yes and no. There's always a way to identify the poster unless an anonymizing service is used.

If you want to remain anonymous, you can always create a dedicated email account (Yahoo / Hotmail for example), and use that when posting.

If you then post via Google Groups (for example), it is pretty much totally anonymous as far as I know.

Only if you post it through an anonymizing service. It'll still record the originating IP address.

Really?

Would that still be a problem for someone like me using a dial-up ISP account? As far as I can tell, my IP address is different each time I dial-up (dynamic allocation or something like that?)

If I changed to an ADSL or other 'permanent' connection does it change the situation?

Your IP is still logged by your ISP, so your really not anonymous.
