mailto encoders
I have my email address on a few websites for contact purposes, and wanted to know if anyone has used an email encoder to foil the spambots that collect addresses. I know this is a very simple fix and may not work for all bots, as some are more sophisticated than others. Anyone had some success with an encoder?
I think that a form would probably work the best (?), but can that be used for multiple addresses? I'm getting more and more spam, and thought this might stem the flow a bit. Kathy |

The problem is that the spammers have now figured out that technique. Just reverse the unicode and you have the email address. Forms are better since they don't show your email address and you can get exactly the info that you need. Some people don't really like using forms though. Yeah, you can send it to multiple email address, a database or pretty much anywhere that you want.

Yes, spambots are more sphisticated in these days. I usually prefer using forms but once in a while there is no workaround and I have to use the real email address on a site. I hate that.
