Using a webcam...

Ok... this is not for me, it's for a friend that I try to help over the internet...

She has a webcam she bougth used, and wants to use it to take still pictures. Now I don't know anything about webcams. The webcam is a Logitech Quickcam Express.

Can someone give me a detailed procedure of how to install the camera, configure the hardware and take still pictures with it?

Thank you very much!

When you say she bought it used, does that mean it came with the software as well?

Try Webcam32 - it's easy to setup and cheap. Make sure she has the correct driver from Logitech installed.

PSTJ,
IF she can get the logitech software installed and running without it locking up her system (finally gave up on mine due to this) the software is quite easy and user friendly. There's obvious buttons and menu options for taking stills and creating short movies. Most of the logitech software also supports 2way video conferencing, like CUseeme and netmeeting.
