Bogus domain registry?

I have been receiving emails from joker.com to renew a domain that they say is ready to expire in two weeks. I did not register with this company, and my domain does not expire until next March.
I've never heard of this company, and this feels like a sleazy attempt to get me to switch over to their service. Should I report them to someone, or just blow them off? I really hate tactics like this.

There are several registars that use those kind of tactics. I received one from Verisign (Netsol) that looked like it was a standard renewal. There was very little to tell someone unsuspecting that this was bogus. But since none of my domains are registered with Verisign, I knew better. This came via snail mail. My advice would be not to use companies that use those kind of tactics.

I also received registration renewal papers from Verisign, even though I had registerted all of my domains with GoDaddy. Like mairving said, I would avoid any company with such tactics.

Thanks for the advice, I do intend to avoid this registrar.
After starting this thread, I did some more research on "domain slamming". Fortunately for me, I did not have one of those email links that automatically switch you over to the new registrar. DomainScams has a lot of information on what to do and how to complain.

There are many companies doing this kind of thing. I sell domain names myself and they even send me the 'advertisement' that my domains are going to expire and that I should use them for renewal. A good domain name reseller does not need this kind of business behaviour.
