Pissed Enough, already!

Is anyone else fit to be tied with all the popup ads that ruin any leisure websurfing these days? I am about to scream. Are there any GOOD programs or software that effectively blank this crap out?

One that I have tried and liked the best is PopUp Stopper. I had PopUp Killer before and didn't like because of the what dldz said - you have to program it as you go along to ignore popups.

PopUp Stopper is much simpler. It just sits in the toolbar and stops 95% of the popups I used to get. If you are on a page and want to allow a popup just double click on the icon to allow popups (disables PopUp Stopper and the icon turns grey). When you go on again just double click on it again to enable PopUp Stopper.

They have a Pro version and a free version. To download the free version go here and scroll to the bottom of the page until you see PopUp Stopper Free.

HTH as it sure did me.

I've only tried PopUp Stopper and it seems to work fine.

Popup Stopper works great.
Mozilla will stop ads and popups also. You just have to learn all the nuances of a new browser.

Thanks guys! Think I'll try the PopUp Stopper for now, although trying Mozilla might be interesting, as I have always browsed with flavors of IE; but old dogs can learn new tricks....kinda......

Hi, AlwaysUp,
If you are already a reguilar user of IE, try Netcaptor. It is a shell for IE that gives you a tabbed interface and some other features. One ot the best is its own buitl-in popup-stopper.

just in case... also get AdAware... it's not a pop up stopper, but it will root out any spyware which can be a cause of pop ups...

just my .02cents worth!

I bought zone alarm pro . It has add blocking and cookie control features. Works like a charm.

Yeah ZAPro's blockers are super powerful.

Just an addition to PopupKiller, it doesn't only use the list, it also "detects" unknown popups. However I stopped using it because it isn't supported/updated anymore.

AdSubtractPro gets my vote.

I am not going to download a whole browser for popup protection, especially when I hear so much about web pages not showing up on the thing (not all of them).
