Every time I try to access the Buysellzone.com site my browser cannot reslove the web address.

Has anyone come a cross this issue?

I am using the latest version of IE with the security updates and still I can get into the Buysellzone site.

That sounds more like a DNS issue with your ISP, unless some spyware has set up a proxy on your machine or edited your hosts file.

Try downloading Adaware from "Download.com". Also various other spyware detectors on this site plus loads of other cool, free downloads.

It is probably also worth checking if a hosts file exists (as per GLC's post), and if so, whether the site is blocked from there.

Assuming you are using Win95/98/ME, then check for a file in C:\Windows called HOSTS (no extension).

It may not exist, in which case, it cannot be causing any problems ;-)

If it does exist, open it using Notepad or something similar, and see if Buysellzone.com is listed anywhere in there.

If it is, back up the HOSTS file (just in case), then delete the entire row with Buysellzone.com.

You might have to re-boot (or at least re-open IE), I cannot recall, but that should fix it.

HTH,

David.

David,

The OS that I'm using is 98. In 98 I found host files but no with the buysellzone in any of the lines.

Do you have any other suggestions.

Sorry - that hosts file can't be the problem if it isn't in there.

Did you try going direct to the IP address?

Buysellzone.com is really:

207.136.86.131

If you type:

http://207.136.86.131

into the IE address bar, and hit enter, it should also take you there without requiring any 'directions' from another server.

Post back with the result.

David.

Couple of more questions for you:

Are you behind a firewall or proxy when you try to access this site?
Can you access other on-line sales sites?

I think I would talk to my ISP, if possible, about the issue.

Have you tried different browsers? Some sites work best with one browser over another. How fast is your connection? Some sites have trouble with really slow connections. Recently my computer couldn't reach my bank's website because I was using the wrong browser. It only liked certain flavors of IE and Netscape. I was using a different release.

The fact that you are using the latest release of Internet Explorer might be the problem.

Angry Fire

I'm experiencing this too now. I changed HDrive recently and fresh installed same OS. My fault is that I installed this IE6 and now I can't seem to go to my fave Chat room not like when I used IE5 before. I tried to allow all the options in the Security and Privacy tabs likewise dl'd the IE6 latest patch from MSoft, but in vain. I hope somebody here could help me fix this one.

What exactly is the browser error message?

Can you paste it in here to see, or capture the screen and attach as an image file?

Hey Everyone,

I first want to thank you for all the suggestions. A special thanks to David. I did what you said, I downloaded Adware to remove any spyware on my computer and it worked. Now, I can access the Buysellzone from the IP address, which didn't work before David, and I can access the site from the URL.

Thanks everybody.
