I can't run WM. Whenever I click on its shortcut to start the pointer changes to the arrow and hourglass but the program never comes up.
I had disabled it via the gpedit.msc command since I hate when it always starts with Windows, I have enable the ability to use it and leave the start with Win feature disabled. I'm using Win XP Pro RC1. HELP!!

Is it possible to use it if you enable it again to start with Windows?

the option to turn off the auto-run with windows start is right there in MSN Messenger itself. There is no need to use gpedit to do this. Re-enable messenger using gpedit, run the program, go into tools, options, preferences, and turn off the auto run there.

Pretty hard to run the program to change the option if you can't run the program...
Go to Add/Remove programs in device manager, remove it, and reinstall it, then after the restart, it should try and log on. You'll need the updates. |

but just enabling it through gpedit may not allow it to run. (and you're right, I should have read more carefully).
