2, 2.1, and 2.2. I could only do it 3 times because it said I hit my max for the hour. it's a good thing they have that limit because compulsive people like me will just sit there doing it over and over. btw, I have cable.

Those of use with dial-up cannot sympathize with people who think ~500 kbps is too slow.

Richard - if you have a 512k account, that's right on the money.

sadly it's "up to" 1 Mpbs downstream and up to 160 kbs upstream ![]() was reading about electromagnetic feilds effecting things and wondered if the RJ11 cable drapping over the powerbar line had anything to do with it...I do have the modem at least 12 " away from speakers, monitor and tower...except for the lines etc. unless I'm near the max allowable distance from the switching station ??? Their site checker said I was good thou. Richard |

Your connection manager software may be exacting a toll in overhead - you could try uninstalling it and using RASPPPoE instead.

I might give that a try this weekend, I still have the url from your reply in another thread...BTW thanks. I assume that since the account is now setup, the trainsition would be fairly smooth? What do you make of this?...I saw this on DSL tweaking for windows http://cable-dsl.home.att.net/#IncreasingWindow ......oops, just saw this on the raspppoe site; Allows tuning the TCP RWIN without registry changes* Richard Last edited by Richard M Balling; 10-04-2002 at 10:00 PM. |

439.8 kilobits per second on ADSL, not bad compared to the old dial-up.
