'sending and receiving' reported error (0x80040154): 'unknown error 0x80040154
please check your network/modem connection i receive this eror message whenever i try to send/receive email in outlook xp. everything was working just fine until my dad decided to install office 2000 pro w/o uninstalling office xp. i then removed both office xp and 2000, and put 2000 back on. since then, outlook doesn't work correctly for email. outlook express works fine, but outlook doesn't. if anyone has any ideas i would appreciate it. thanks for all the help

check the pop & smtp entries under the e-mail account settings.

yeah i did that, and i even deleted and reentered the info, and it did not work. i have no idea what the problem could be because that was my first thought. the only thing i can think of is that maybe w/ all of the installing/uninstalling something got screwed up w/ outlook bc outlook express workd just fine.

Have you tried going to http://support.microsoft.com ?
You can enter your error message there for Outlook. I did and looked up your error. Check out http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q242777 Hope this helps.
