looking for some new security proggies

hi, im planning to renew my security programs. im currently using zonealarm (older version) adaware,...
can someone give me their opinion on the (free?) best firewalls around these days, i also could really use a new popupkiller and a trojan cleaner/scanner to be on the safe side. i last checked with a free cleaner called swatit
and maybe some other things im forgetting. andy ideas anyone?
im using win98se, explorer 5.00 ..... (6 went berserk on my pc) i have a cable connection (telenet belgium, company provided motorola cybersurfer wave or something modem)

ZoneAlarm is still the best bet.
Adaware too.
I like Trojan remover from http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/
Another nice one to look at is Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/

Try Sygate for the firewall. All of the firewall comparisons I've seen they say this is the best out there, especially because it's free. Do a search for firewall comparisons and decide for yourself.

Stick with adaware.

Don't have a trojan cleaner but heard the The Cleaner is good, don't think it's free though.

thanks for the help, would it be possible to run Sygate and zonealarm together, or would this result in troubles?

I concur with reboot --

ZoneAlarm
Adaware
Trojan Remover (kicks The Cleaner's teeth in) -- but it's not free. Although I'd rather pay for this utility (and have) than for The Cleaner.
Never tried Spybot -- but I've heard very good things about it.

I run: Sygate
Ad-Aware
Spybot

They have all done a great job of keeping my computer clean. Zone Alarm is a really good firewall tho.

ZA is the most popular, and probably as good as Sygate, although Sygate is more for the geekier, ZA is easier to set up and use.
Yes, Trojan Remover is not free, but it does kick "The Cleaner's" teeth in.
Spybot was just reviewed at Lockergnome, and from what I've seen, it's great.
Running two firewalls is redundant, and could cause a ton of grief.
Get them both, install and run one for a couple of days, uninstall, install the other, and compare. Keep the one you like best. (ZA because of it's active email scanning get's my vote).
