IE6 acting funny

Explorer 6.0 all the sudden acting funny. Had prob 6 browser windows open at the same time. Tried going to other page and got a time out error. Computer slowed down alot. Tried another window that was open and another timeout error followed by a message that it was prob a Firewall. Not running software firewall just the router. Restarted comp and reset router and dsl modem. Clicked on IE icon to open it and the pointer turned to a hourglass for a few seconds and then turned back into a pointer. IE 6 wouldnt open. Restarted comp again and IE opened but was very slow in doing so. Seems ok for now. Any ideas?
TIA

Sumdumgi,
You might go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and do a repair.

Thanks Kubie but that isnt a option in XP. Do you mean use the repair option for XP at install? IE6 doesnt show up in control panel under add remove.
Thanks

Repairing IE is not an option, but it can be done read this

Re-install IE - Go to Start/Run, and type: "rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\ie.inf"
without the quotes.
