No progress window in IE6

Hi everyone

This post is for my in-law, My father in-law emailed me the other day and told me he lost his prgoress window in his browser, and wanted to how to get it back. At first I thought it was just hidden behind his task-bar and told him to hide his taskbar for the time being and just raise the bottom of his browser and that should do it. No such luck, he then tells me that he loaded a program on to his system from this Co called Excel 2000 it a local and long distance Co he was going to join, but decided against it.

He then tell me that he has a scroll bar on both sides and bottom of his browser and he still can't get his progress window back. Any Ideas on what is causing it? I told him to goto ADD remove and remove anything with Excel 2000 and to get back to me ant let me know what happened.

I've had the same problem since about IE 6 SP 1, which makes me think it's a bug. All I found at MS support is:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q293373

which doesn't say much...

I solved the status bar problem know all I need to know is how do you get rid of the extra scroll bar on the bottom of the browser. To fix the original problem went to view>and click on status bar and bingo it was back in service.

Hi doubledragon5,

My progress bar is also checked, but it still disappears at times, especially with things like a PDF file. I never know how long I have left.

For a test on the scroll bar, you may wan't to try a the next jump up in screen resolution to see if that makes it go away.
