Apache Basics

I'm very new to linux and I want to set up a web server and host a site just for fun. I've just installed Red Hat 8.0 and I've got the server running, I can reach the Apache test page on my LAN. But I'm unsure what type of developement program I can use. If any one has any ideas, thank you for any help.

If you can see the test page the sever is running and working.

As far as putting up your site goes, it's simply a matter of replacing the index page in the webserver's root directory with your index page, and adding the rest of your files.

If I understand you correctly, there is no "program" associate with Apache for creating a site or individual pages, it's just the server.
