Angry Fire Pop-up ads Freezing up MSN 8.

I got MSN 8.0 and there is a site I go to where there are always pop-ups. When I right click on the pop up ad to close it, my MSN freezes and i have to close it and open it back up again. Any suggestions. Thanks.

I close the pop ups by pressing ctrl+alt+delete its way faster and make sure once you do this you select the right page to close otherwise you'll be closing something else.

I am a customer of MSN dialup service. I only use the MSN Explorer to log on. From there, I use Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. I don't even use the MSN Hotmail that came with the account.

I tried MSN 8 and went back to 7. MSN 8 wants to kick me off every forty five minutes whether or not I'm actually surfing the net. I thought I was back to using the original NetZero when you had to be at your computer at a specific time or get kicked off.

Try making a manual connection instead. Start>control panel>Network connections>Make new connection wizard. At the next screen make sure the top dot "Connect to the Internet" is checked click next>.Next screen choose "Set up my connection amnually"then click next. Next screen Choose "Connect using a dial-up modem"click next.

Next screen in capital letters type "MSN" without quotes click next.Next screen type in a access number from your area, best way to do this is when you dial MSN 8 copy the number it uses to dial and place that one in the box, then click next.

Final screen type MSN/ and after the slash type the user name that holds the main account without the @msn.com then typed in the password and confirm the password then hit next and then finish. Now you have a manual connection to MSN when you dial in just use you IE browser and there you have it. to get mail just go to hotmail.com and type you e-mail address and password.

If you have any problems with these instructions just call MSN at 877-635-7019 and they will help you set it up. These instructions are how I set mine up for WinXP other OS should be similar.

RayH the problem with MSN 8 cutting you off after 45 min was a glitch in their server. If you didn't touch any key on your board for 45 minutes it would cut you off automatically. That problem has been solved. I know because I complained about that and now have no problems.
