greedo Internet Explorer

For some reazon,I checked on "About Internet Explorer" and to my surprise,Cipher Strength shows 0 bits. The only thing I can do on that machine is go to AOL,my IPS. I have a cd wich contain IE 5
but everytime I try to installed it become idle. Not that it does not respond. When I check on programs rinning on the background there's one that read: unknow:stop responding". Is this a virus?and if it is,how come I have Nortom System Work 2002 installed and prevented it from happening? How can I reinstall IE?or fix the HDD without replacing it with a new one?Any help? Thanks.

Could be a bad copy of IE. Try installing the latest version, of if you want the same version, find another cd that contains that version of IE that you want. Could of been a bad disc providing the bad IE.
Hope that helps!

BARRACK,

This could be corruption of some DLL's. Check this MS Knowledge base article.

If you need to uninstall or reinstall IE, there is help here.

Good luck.
