voice conversation
I have two computers networked with a wireless router. Whenever I try to do a voice conversation on MSN IM, I get this warning saying that i have a NAT that might not allow voice conversations and the voice conversation is then stopped. How do i fix this problem?

from microsoft and from technet
I've heard of the issues being solved by openning 5004-65535 (source), but both UPnP and openning so many ports seems crazy to me .. defeats the purpose of having that security of a router

I went to that source page. I don't have Windows XP. Is it possible to fix this without the XP internet sharing program?

If you want security, leave NAT in place.
If you want voice, put the computer in the DMZ and forget any security you might have had...actually, just sell your router and get a hub, then you can talk all you want...sorta defeats the purpose of having a router, no? |
