im making a site, and i want to enable my users to have web logs of whatever (personal journal, etc.) and i want it to be able to be viewed by all the other users. i was thinking that this may be possible with php, but i am not fluent in the language. will it work? how? with what? i need the details. thanks in advance!!!

I'm sure there are blog scripts with password protection, most likely using cookies. Check this site for tons of scripts.

Depending on how your site looks like you could also look into a CMS system or news system. Otherwise - just type "blogs" into google.com - you will find lots of information. I recommend php as it does not put so much load onto a server compared to like Perl scripts.
