can't type in search lines
We've got an old computer that won't allow typing in the search lines of Google or AllTheWeb (and probably more, those are the only things I've checked). The keyboard works fine for typing in URLs, etc., it just seems to be search entries that don't work.
I'm assuming it's something with security settings, but I haven't found anything to solve it yet. |

I am not sure if I understand what you mean. Can you give more details - what Operating System and what browser version are you using?

well, the computer used to be in our school (no one told me about the problem then), but a local business took 3 of our old machines, and he discovered the problem. So, the machine isn't here for me to look at right now. I think it's windows 98, and it's using Internet Explorer, either version 4 or 5.
Here's what's not working: if you go to google.com, you can type your search words in an entry line on the google home page. But on this particular computer, you can't type anything in that entry line. You can't even get your cursor to blink inside of this entry area. |
