One of my hotmail accounts has been tampered with. At least, that's the only thing I can think of. I go to sign in to it and it says the password is incorrect. I try a few more time making sure capslock is off and I'm typing in the password correctly, but, no go. I try to reset it, the secret question I had established has been changed. I try to get Hotmail Tech Support to reset it, they ask for Profile info. Name, DOB, Location....etc. They email me back telling me that the info I provided doesn't match the info they have and that they enforce their policies and can't release my password without the correct information. In this account, I have emails that contain some EXTREMELY VITAL information. Is there any other way to get into the account and reset the password? Or at least retrieve the emails? Thanks for your help guys.

I don't think we can really give advice on this situation. While your intentions may be true, giving out information in such a situation would also essentially be giving somebody with lesser nobel intentions the info that they need to crack into an account, so unfortunately, I don' think we will be able to help you with this situation.
Instead, I would be creating a new account and immediately informing ppl of your situation and to forward your e-mail to the new account. Thank you for understanding.

Are you sure it's the password and not account inactive?
If you don't check hotmail for 30 (60,90, whatever?) days they will mark your accont inactive and when you do try to access it, they will try to convince you that you have to upgrade and pay for it. But if you go way down to the bottom of the page you can click on a tiny little link that says "re-activate without upgrading " and your back in. Good Luck |
