Online problem

Yesterday I went online and got nothing. I connected with my dialup at 49333, but nothing is up online. It's like I am not connected. I know I'm online because I hear it dialing and getting user name etc. When it's trying to load a website I get this in the progress bar. windows/system/shdoclc.dll. I wonder if the sh in the file is part of my username, which is slholmes. Thanks.

Go online, and then open a DOS box (command prompt).
At the prompt, type: ping www.pcmech.com
If you get a bunch of numbers back, then your connection is working ok, but the browser may need fixing.
If you get timeouts, it's time to fix your dial-up-networking.
To fix the browser, go to control panel, add/remove programs, and select Internet Explorer, click the add/remove button. Select "Repair IE" from the options.
Restart as prompted.
Let us know.

I went to the DOS prompt and it said "host no found". I repaired the browser and reinstalled dialup networking. Still have the problem.
I set up another PC and used the same phone line and I get connected without any problems. Now what?
