Question about my cable connection
Ok i got a cable modem and im getting a new computer, basically im just wondering if i need a installation cd to install whatever software i might need for xp or can i just set up my ip settings as they were on the previous box and be ready to go...im asking here because i know ill get a quicker response here than on the phone with customer support.
Thanks, The Pothead |

From what I have seen you do not need the installation disk other that to access features from your provider. Windows XP will set everything up for you and then if you cannot get on newsgroups or the e-mail servers then you will need the cd.
