pics. not showing up on some sites???
having this problem with a lot of pages where i get the red x in alot of boxes where there should be a pic. or something else. not sure what the problem is. i get it all the time on msn.com. here is an attachment of what i get everytime i open my browser. this happens on other sites too just cant think of them right now. i get this though everytime and its annoying. any help appreciated. thanks.

did you change your host file? there is one that will block alot of ads in your web browser and the things that arent showing up on msn.com look like ads to me

have no idea what a host file is? how do i change it back?

if you dont know what it is, then you probobly didnt change it. it is the file that kinda tells what does what on a website i think and what can show or something like that but i dont really know

also noticed now too that when i try to open a link on a webpage it just won't open. look in left corner of window and says something about javascript. is this what i need?

Not likely if you have a current version of IE.
Unless told to act otherwise IE is pretty bad about caching "broken" pages (pages that didn't load properly, pages with scripts that didn't execute properly, etc.) from my experience. Try clearing the IE cache and hitting the "settings" button in the middle of the box under internet options. Set "check for newever versions of stored pages" to "every visit to the page". See if that helps any. |

still can't figure it out
im still having this problem and am not sure how to fix it. i did what Xayd said and didn't work. i have IE 6.0 SP1. not sure if the service pack is doing this but its not just one webpage. its several pages that many pics. won't show up. and even some sites where a new window is supposed to open when i click on the link nothing happens. there is an error icon in bottom left right above toolbar that says something about javascript but don't even know what this is.

My only thought is that you may have some kind of anti-ad program running that disables pop-ups and maybe animated advertisements. Otherwise, I have no idea. Hope that helps...
