dial up speed

All that is avalible in my area is dial up connection. My connection speed has slowed to 28800 from 46000 and I need some help to get it back up. What is my problem? It went from slow to a crawl. Can any one help?

Has it been like that for a long time, or has it happened just once in a while? If just once in a while, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I occasionaly connect at a slower speed, which I think is due to heavy traffic at certain times of the day (lunchhour and evenings)

Did you recently have another telco line installed, change modems, or plug something "new" into a jack?
