Banners will not work in site

I had some banners made up for my web sites and wanted to do two things with them. One, was post them on my web site so I can share with my friends. Second, I wanted to put them in my signature of my e-mails so people could just click and go.

I tried using Dreamweaver to put the banners both flash and Gif versions onto a page with no success. Am I missing something?
I can't seem to find any help in my books either.

Thanks.

How are you trying to do it? Paste code if you handcode any or tell what you are doing in dreamweaver.

I am trying to paste them in with Dreamweaver.

I was also trying to paste them into my signature file in Outlook as well. Maybe I need to make a template for that??? Hmm

well.. you need to upload the image/flash files to the host server.

when you paste them in DW, the images are stored locally on your machine... not the Web server's. Get those files over there through FTP or whatever tool you use and make sure the src points to the images on the Web server. You should be set.

I understand that about the location of the files.

I can not get it to work both locally and on the server.

Try using the Insert command from the toolbar. then select "Images" and then browse to the gif file. that should work and place the image on the page locally. Pasting images onto the design portion of DW will not work.

Did that as well and nothing.

I have done every process available to put it into an html page and used every resource available in book format.

This is not my first html page and I am wondering if going up to DW MX is the issue.
