Ebay sucks

Well, I got a non paying bidder on an item I was selling and gave him over 2 months to resolve and pay up. Needless to say he never did so I left negative feedback and it turns out this guy and some of his ebay buddies turn me in to ebay for fraud or who knows what else and now im suspended and I didnt even do anything wrong. I mean isnt there something or someone that can moderate this crap? What am I supposed to do now? They have either cookied my computer or copied my IP. I dont know but I cant get on no matter what and any account I sign on to from my computer gets blocked. I had a couple of items that I was getting for some birthday presents and now I am thinking about reformatting but if they somehow have my IP then I use DSL and that wont work. I dunno what im gonna do.. grrrrr

I'm not heavy into ebay but I would think that the blocking is done from their end simply deactivating your userid. I would guess you can access the site but just can not log on to sell or bid for anything. Most DSL's are not static but you get possibly a different IP address each time you reconnect, and if it were cookies then just clear yours out and retry, but seriously I would think it is in their server that you are blocked.

I've learned over the years that most of the scum on Ebay are buyers, not sellers.

Well, as far as I know I cleared my cookies, I use Win XP. Whats the way to make sure I did? And I know I cant use any ID's from here cuz I tried to sign on an old one and it got automatically blocked since I tryed to use it from this computer. I think my IP is static cuz my DSL so im hoping thats not what they hold onto. I just need to figure out a way to clear whatevers on my comp. I suppose I could just reformat and see what happens.

What about contacting people at e-bay about this, them blocking you may have been an automated response. You could try to reason with e-bay and they may remove the block to your system. You say this user that you gave a negative feedback got his buddies to turn you in for fraud, how exactly did they do this, did they participate in subsequent auctions then claim fraud? What was your feedback rating before you tried to make the sale, what payment options was he supposed to use? Money orders, and other direct payment methods work but if you insist on them using paypal or other third party holding house then you have a paper trail to back up your story, they would not.

Sean;
Don't you think reformatting your PC is a bit drastic, and if it is your DSL static IP adddress, then it wont change even if you reformat and reload windows. Why not try someone elses PC first and see if you can logon??

Reformatting your PC because of a problem with Ebay is like tearing down your house because you got overcharged on your credit card bill. It makes no sense whatsoever. Contact Ebay and find out what is going on. They aren't going to block people without telling them why. Trying to get around Ebay by reformatting or doing anything like that isn't going to work.

I get what you guys are saying, believe me, I know its pretty drastic but if it is someone worm they put on your computer and I cant find it then it would be my only solution. And yes, lets hope its not my static IP. I will try and reason with ebay today and see what comes out of it and let you guys know if you are interested. And I had about 10 sales or so and all positive so I had a nice clean record so far. This guys even write me and told me what he did, he said that he and some other people all filed complaints against me and thats what did it. Unbelievable.

If I were you I'd try to contact eBay directly, as to resolve the problem as eBay is probly the best place to buy/trade almost anything online.....see if this helps:

Maybe SquareTrade may be able to help you.

I have noticed that ebay is much more forgiving to those members that have made them more money. In other words, if lets say you have sold alot of items, or a few expensive ones, and of coarse you have paid all of there fees, they seem to not be so quick to cut someone off.

eBay can be bad sometimes, I prefer to only buy from buyer with 100% positive feedback and at least 100, I like to look at the recent items they sold and the people who bought. A lot of times you'll get for example a seller with a rating of 150 all positive and they bought 145 of the items that they are getting their rating for, that's usually someone to pass on. Just my methods though.

We use eBay all the time to buy and sell. I've only had 2 problems. Once as a seller and once as a buyer. If eBay suspended you, then you messed up, didn't follow the rules or something. Contact seller support here http://pages.ebay.com/help/account/R...VerifyPSU.html

Find out what you did or didn't do. Give 'em your side of the story, show them proof you had a dead beat bidder (emails that you sent to the bidder requesting payment)

They will work with you.

ebay

I bought and sold without problems on Ebay. The key is to pay only by Paypal or electronic payment through your credit card. That way you can get refunded through your CC or by paypal with a chargeback. Ive had success with Ebay's Squaretrade dispute resolution process also. If you send a check in the mail then you will in all likelihood be ripped off.
