A client has a win98 machine, in DUN he has his icon to connect to the ISP. When you double click on the icon, you get the connect to screen where you input the username and password. However in his case it doesn't happen. When he double clicks it automatically connects. His problems is he has error 691 which is username/pwd error. I have reinstalled DUN and still can't access his username and pwd through the ISP icon provided. Check his internet options and it is not connecting automatically. His modem is fine. What else is there I can check. TIA.

Open Explorer, go down to DUN. Select his connection, right click, select properties. Change what you need.
Or, just delete his DUN connection, and make a new one with a different name. |

I can go to properties to adjust dial up number and other stuff related to network settings, but when I double click it connects automatically without the connect to screen coming up. So I can't change the username and pwd. Don't know if you understand what I mean.

Make sure the client hasn't installed Dunce or some other autodial/redial software.
