question about FTP Server
currently i am trying to developing a web sites. i would like to put some files for my friends to download i wonder hwo can i set up a FTP server, but the problme is my home computer i have a dial up connection, so is it possible to set up ftp in a remote server than i can give the ip address or the ftp address to my fd so they can log on to that account and FTP

Hi wilbasket23,
Yes it's possible, just use an FTP server program like FileZilla and give your friends the IP, login, and password. Make sure the files aren't too big however since it's only on a dial-up connection. |

If you have a webhost for your site, check with your host to see if they offer anonymous FTP.

pstj: SmartFTP, while a good FTP client, isn't an FTP server.

Anonymous ftp means anyone can log on.
