Decent Web building software
Hello,
I must first apologize. I'm sure this question gets asked often. But please humor me. I'm having a hard time searching for the answer to this one. What is a decent webpage building program that isn't super-expensive? I'm only aware of Flash and Dreamweaver. These are several hundred dollars. Basically I'm looking for a step up from the template based web building software at sites like Tripod.com or Zy.com . I've always done my own HTML, but would like something a little more flashy. (no pun intended) Preferably under $100 Thanks!

By the way, please don't forget to mention any obvious ones that you may figure I "already knew about"... Cause I don't!

Hi,
To tell the truth, I spent the bucks for Dreamweaver. There are other ones out there which I have not tried yet, like coffee cup.... http://www.coffeecup.com/editor/ |

If you're a student and/or educator, try getting a student edition of dreamweaver or golive from http://www.journeyed.com . They have dreamweaver for about $100 bucks I thought.

Hi brvheart, I have been using a free html editor for over 5 years and quite frankly it is excellent. I have built 7 different websites with it, one was a commercial site for a friend.
I can not understand anyone paying out hard earned cash when a program like this one is available almost free of charge. I say almost because although cash does not change hands the author expects something from you for using his program. The program is called, arachnophillia. It has a great, user friendly interface and speeds up the web building process enormosly compared to using notepad. If you are interested, Arachnophillia is careware and may be found here: http://www.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/index.html

I've used Cool Page. It is very easy to use. Even a moron like me could figure it out.

I think some web editors will yell at me for this, but I prefer using frontpage. Helpful hint with using front page: Never use the presets.
