Wierd Lan Network speeds?
Ok here my situation, I got 2 computer on my lan hooked through a router with the proper protocals installed, My speed is 1 meg second when i pull a file off my network shares from computer 2 which is a amd 1700+ with 614meg ram with win , i pull the file from a 200 mhz file server with windows me the , now when i send a file to my 200 mhz box from the 1700+ i get upload speed of only 15-20 kbs, now i have 10/100 lan cards in both machines,
the problem is wierd i really have no clue what to do. its pretty mind boggling , It also locks my 1700+ box when i try to send a file occasionally. Rather wierd situation any insite would be greatly appreciate, Anthony |

Check to see if the ME machine is running at full duplex (properties on the network card in control panel/network).
You probably also want to tweak the ME machine's network settings a bit upward in terms of packet size and such, there are very good guides on how to do so at http://www.speedguide.net |
