hiding IP address for starters

Hi, I use outlook express to send my mail, I also use the Newsgroups - recently I have been trying to work out "whos who"
When I post, there seems to be loads of information about me in the properties of the post (IP address etc) were-ss in the other posts theres no sign of who its trace to.
firstly can I cut down the info thats displayed about me?
secondly can I find out who's sent certain posts?

As far as the originating mail server/ISP and the rest of the header info, yes there are ways but if you're using your ISP's news server you likely won't be able to do it.

They'll restrict posting to users from within their IP ranges, as they should. That prevents them from being a source of spam.

One thing you SHOULD hide, however, is your return mail address IMO. That can be changed by simply changing the "reply to" address in your usenet client, whatever that may be, to an invalid address.

This will prevent you from getting your mail address farmed from newsgroups and added to spam mail lists.

The internet wouldn't work if return paths were all completely anonymous .

Use some sort of firewall, don't download attachments without scanning them for virii, and don't use your real email address to post with and you should be fine.

sorry I should have said "Does anybody know of any good newsgroup mail providers" maybe the proper term is news-readers. I'm new to newsgroups so I'm looking for for something different than Outlook express
